Upper East Side, NYC

Photo 1 of 5 | One of the most common sights after hurricane aka tropical storm Irene: broken umbrellas. In addition, there were some disrooted trees and lots of garbage and puddles of water in the streets. Further up the scale of devastation, the Hudson and East River burst their banks in some places, though I saw no serious damage in Midtown. Haven't been to Lower Manhattan though, which was considerably more in danger of flooding.
